Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Redskins Sun. Dec. 12th 2010 1pm EST
Before this NFL regular season even began, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were considered to be one of the worst teams in the league once again as they still had a young core of players led by an unproven quarterback in Josh Freeman.
Despite no one really expecting much from this young Bucs squad, Tampa Bay has more than exceeded expectations this season as Josh Freeman has turned into a Pro bowl caliber quarterback and lead this team to an impressive 7-5 record heading into Week 14’s matchup against the Washington Redskins.
Unfortunately, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a loss to the division leading Atlanta Falcons and could very well be out of the running to win the NFC South division title, but they still might have a chance to be playoff bound at season’s end with the NFC Wildcard.
Much like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Washington Redskins came into this NFL regular-season without many high expectations as it was the first year under new head coach Mike Shanahan and with perennial Pro Bowler Donovan McNabb under center.
Obviously, with these two big names added to the mix in Washington, the Redskins were thought to be a decent football team this season, but as the season progresses their defense has quickly turned into one of the worst in the NFL in Shanahan’s new squad will almost certainly finish under a .500.
As of right now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are favored come out on top in this matchup with a -2 point spread.
Even though they are still licking their wounds after losing to the left talk as last week, Josh Freeman and company should get back on track this week with a convincing win over the Washington Redskins.
