New England Patriots @ Chicago Bears Sun. Dec. 12th 2010 4:15pm EST
Last week on Monday Night Football, the New England Patriots cemented themselves as arguably the best team in the NFL this season as they were able to do absolutely destroy their division rivals in the New York Jets with a 45-3 blowout in front of their devoted fans at Gillette Stadium.
Even though the win over the New York Jets was huge to say the least as now the New England Patriots sit atop the AFC East division and are considered to be arguably the best team in the league, NFL MVP candidate quarterback Tom Brady will have his work cut out for them once again this week against one of the top defenses in the league in the Chicago Bears.
It would be hard to argue that the New York Jets aren’t an elite defense or one of the top three defenses in the league, but the Chicago Bears really stepped up this year and could be arguably the best defense in the league heading into this game and the toughest challenge of the season and containing Tom Brady who has thrown just four interceptions all season long.
Despite this being classic battle of a lockdown defense against the potent offense, I believe that the New England Patriots are virtually unstoppable right now on the offensive side of the football. With that being said, I believe the Chicago Bears will be in for long day in Week 14 as they will be at the mercy of Bill Belichick and company.
As of right now, the New England Patriots are favored to win yet again this week with a -3 point spread. Even though I believe this game has the potential to be extremely close from start to finish, in the end I see the Patriots getting out to a big lead in the second half and cruising to victory.
