New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons Sun. Nov. 13, 2011 1 p.m. EST
The NFC South division has become increasingly more competitive with every passing season as all four teams have made considerable upgrades and having quickly started to become forces to be reckoned with. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers might need a few more years to develop their young talent on both sides of the football, but the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons are ready to win Super Bowl right now!
Of course, Drew Brees and company already achieved the goal of winning a Super Bowl title a few years ago, but they are back and thirsty for more with one of the best offenses in the NFL. The Saints may have struggled over the last month or so with some up and down performances, but they seem to be back to form heading into Week 10’s divisional showdown against the resurgent Atlanta Falcons.
Much like the Saints, the Falcons have had their fair share of struggles this season, but after a Week 9’s dominant win over the Indianapolis Colts (31-7) this team does seem to be back on track. Matt Ryan and company might struggle against the Saints early in the contest in Week 10, but they have been resilient this season and could pull off the slight upset.
The one advantage that the Atlanta Falcons have in this game is home field advantage. Matt Ryan and his boys are about as good as any team in the league on their home field in the Georgia Dome and that might be enough to propel them to win over their division rivals this weekend.
As of right now, the New Orleans Saints have the edge in this matchup with a -1 point spread. Even though the Saints are capable of winning, I believe the Falcons will come out on top.
