Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants Sun. Nov. 14th 2010 4:15pm EST
The NFC East division is arguably one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL today, but heading into Week 10 the New York Giants are sporting a 6-2 and are sitting pretty comfortably in first place. Even though the Philadelphia Eagles and possibly the Washington Redskins could give Eli Manning and company a run for their money in the race for the division title, the New York Giants look like they could cruise into the playoffs, especially since they have a chance to improve to 7-2 with another win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10.
Despite coming into this NFL regular season as the favorites to win the NFC Conference, the Dallas Cowboys have been arguably the most disappointing Super Bowl title contender in the NFL this season and will probably continue their woes against the New York Giants this week at the New Meadowlands Stadium.
Without Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo under center due to a broken clavicle which he suffered a few weeks ago against the Giants, the Cowboys have been seemingly helpless on the offensive side of the football, but owner Jerry Jones just recently fired head coach Wade Phillips in favor of offensive coordinator Jason Garrett who might be able to turn things around.
Obviously, it is bit of a stretch to believe that a change at head coach will completely turn things around for a team that just a complete mess right now, but you never know what can happen when there is another guy calling the shots on the sidelines.
As of right now, the division-leading New York Giants are favorites to come out on top in this NFC East showdown with a -13.5 point spread. That is a little too high in my opinion even though this could very well be a blowout.
Taking the Cowboys at +13.5 seems like the wise decision.
