NFL Week 3: San Diego Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks odds and predictions

San Diego Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks Sun. Sept. 26th 4:15pm EST

The San Diego Chargers came into this season with Super Bowl aspirations once again, but were given somewhat of a wakeup call in Week 1 against the division rival Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football as Philip Rivers and company were only able to put up 14 points on an uncharacteristically good Chiefs defense.

Needless to say, the Chiefs went on to win 21-14 and the talk of the Chargers falling apart once again began to circulate around the league.

Odds and lines for this matchup by leading online sportsbooks:

Bodog Sportsbook:
Spread: San Diego Chargers -6 & Seattle Seahawks +6
Moneyline: San Diego Chargers -235 & Seattle Seahawks +195
Over/Under: San Diego Chargers -110 & Seattle Seahawks +110 (44)

Bookmaker Sportsbook:
Spread: San Diego Chargers -5 & Seattle Seahawks +5
Moneyline: San Diego Chargers -235 & Seattle Seahawks +195
Over/Under: San Diego Chargers -110 & Seattle Seahawks +110 (44)

Fortunately, the Chargers were able to redeem themselves in Week 2 with an impressive 38-13 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Even though this win was exactly what San Diego needed to get their momentum headed into the right direction, they did suffer a major blow by losing rookie running back Ryan Matthews to an ankle injury.

Matthews says that he felt like he could have returned to last week’s game against the Jaguars, but with backup running back Mike Tolbert playing extremely well with 82 yards and two touchdowns, head coach Norv Turner and company felt it was unnecessary to risk further injury to their promising young rookie.

It is still uncertain whether or not Matthews will be able to get back on the field against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3, but even if he doesn’t the San Diego Chargers will be content with using Tolbert in his place.

As for the Seahawks, they will still be licking their wounds after going into the Mile High City last week and getting dominated by the Denver Broncos 31-14. Even though the future looks bright for Pete Carroll and company, I believe the San Diego Chargers will hand the Seattle Seahawks a second straight loss by a convincing margin.

As you can see with the sportsbook lines above, there is some great NFL football betting action to be had this weekend.
