New England Patriots @ Detroit Lions Thurs. Nov. 25th 2010 12:30pm EST
The New England Patriots have been arguably one most dominant teams in the league this season as they have proven all the doubters wrong by playing some hard-nosed football and winning games every single week.
Obviously, the Patriots have their fair share problems as they aren’t the best defensive team in league, but they continue to prove that they are an extremely resilient football team with a never say die attitude that just might lead them all the way to an AFC East division title and may be all the way to the Super Bowl. There is something about the Patriots and Thanksgiving day that makes for some fun NFL football betting. This should be an easy win for them against a struggling Lions team.
Coming into Week 12’s matchup against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day, the New England Patriots have won two straight games against two of the best teams in the league in the Pittsburgh Steelers (39-26) and the Indianapolis Colts (31-28). Not only were these two wins impressive to say the least as it proved to many people that the Patriots are the real deal this season, but it may have given them the momentum moving forward to contend for the AFC East division title and make a run in the playoffs.
As of right now, the New England Patriots are pretty heavily favored to come out on top in this Thanksgiving Day matchup with a -7 point spread. Even though the Detroit Lions are a young and up and coming football team with a bright future, I really can’t see them getting the best of the New England Patriots this Thursday as they are dealing with some injury problems and have lost three straight to the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys.
There is a slight possibility of making the Lions making this a close game and maybe even an upset here, but I would say the safe bet would be to take the Patriots to cover.
