The Toronto Raptors came into this NBA season with high hopes of finally being able to compete with the big boys in the Eastern Conference like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics, but their free agent acquisition of Hedo Turkoglu turned out to be somewhat of a bust and now the Raptors are heading home instead of into the postseason.

Despite having an unsuccessful season this year after signing a high priced free agent in Turkoglu, the team has shown signs of improvement with players like Andrea Bargnani coming into his own and helping superstar forward Chris Bosh lead this team.

Unfortunately, the impressive season by Bargnani and another All-Star season for Bosh, the Toronto Raptors weren’t able to pull it together when they had an opportunity to clinch the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.

Now the Toronto Raptors face a serious hurdle as their best all around player Chris Bosh officially becomes a free agent on July 1^st with other big names like Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire and most notably LeBron James.

Even though it has been thought that the Toronto Raptors have solid shot of re-signing their superstar, the disappointing end to this season might have convinced the All-Star forward to start looking elsewhere as he will without a doubt be getting a lot of offers around the league starting July 1^st.

One of the teams that will most likely be going after Chris Bosh, amongst other big name free agents, is the New York Knicks who will have the most money to spend on free agents this offseason and they intend on doing just that.

After the Toronto Raptors were officially booted from playoff contention by the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, Chris Bosh has said he is still very uncertain about his plans for the future and what uniform he will be playing in next season.

Personally, I believe the New York Knicks, Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Clippers will go after the All-Star forward and have a much better chance of signing him compared to the Toronto Raptors.
