Celtics look to take 3 game lead in Eastern Conference Finals

Ever since the Boston Celtics won the NBA title against their arch rival Los Angeles Lakers back in 2008, Kevin Garnett and company have failed to reclaim their dominance on the basketball floor as they have been ravaged with injuries.

With KG seemingly never healthy and the rest of the big three failing to pick up the slack in his absence, the Boston Celtics haven’t been able to put healthy team on the floor that could compete for an NBA title. Along with their health issues over the last two seasons, the Celtics have also witnessed the Orlando Magic and the Cleveland Cavaliers quickly rise up the ranks in the Eastern Conference.

Over the last two seasons, LeBron James and Dwight Howard have been able to lead their teams to dominant status in the NBA. The Cavs have done it by riding LeBron all the way, but have failed to play well in the playoffs and therefore have been knocked out much earlier than anticipated over the past two years. The Magic’s success has come from being arguably one of the best offenses in the NBA and having the best defender over the last two seasons in two-time Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard.

Even though both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic have improved their basketball teams since the Boston Celtics won the NBA title in 2008, the boys in green have finally become healthy once again and seem to be back to championship form once again as they dominated the Cavs in the second round and are on the verge of taking a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals over the Orlando Magic.

Much like they did in their 2008 championship campaign, the Boston Celtics have once again become arguably the best defensive team in the NBA and have driven Stan Van Gundy’s squad crazy as they have failed to put up points like they had throughout the playoffs before reaching the Conference finals.

Now the series heads to Boston where the Celtics are already up 2-0 and the Orlando Magic will have their backs against the wall in an extremely hostile environment.

If Dwight Howard and company can find a way to win game three in Boston, they will be back in this series, but things are not looking promising as they were dominated in the first two games on their home floor in Florida.
