Houston Texans vs Oakland Raiders Sun. Oct. 3rd 1pm EST
After the first two weeks of the season, the Houston Texans had gone from a struggling expansion team trying to finally clinch a playoff spot and breakout of the Indianapolis Colts shadow in the AFC South division to arguably one of the best teams in the league with a high-powered offense.
With wins over the Indianapolis Colts and the Washington Redskins in consecutive weeks, the Houston Texans proved to the rest of the league that they were the real deal and force to be reckoned with in the AFC Conference this season, but after Week 3’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Matt Schaub and company have been given a little bit of a reality check.
Fortunately, this up and coming football team will have a chance to redeem themselves in Week 4 as they will head to Oakland to take on the one win Raiders on their home field. This is a great NFL football betting match-up.
There have debates over the first three weeks of the season on whether or not the Oakland Raiders were finally going to be able to turn the corner this year, but after two losses in the first three weeks to the Tennessee Titans (38-13) and the Arizona Cardinals (24-23), the Raiders are showing signs of underachieving once again.
The one thing that has been interesting about the Oakland Raiders this season has been their dilemma at the quarterback position. During the offseason, the Raiders acquired Jason Campbell from the Washington Redskins and there were high hopes that he would be able to help turn the team around as the starter, but that wasn’t the case and he was quickly benched in favor of backup Bruce Gradkowski.
Even though it seemed like Gradkowski was the right choice under center for Tom Cable, the Raiders new starting gunslinger struggled against the Arizona Cardinals last week and has kept the team uneasy about their quarterback position.
As of right now, the Houston Texans are favored to come out on top in this Week 4 matchup with a -3 point spread and that sounds a pretty good bet to me!
