Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles Sun. Sept. 12th 4:15pm EST
Last season the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles fell just short in the playoffs as Aaron Rodgers and company were beaten in overtime against the Arizona Cardinals and Andy Reid’s squad was dominated by the Dallas Cowboys.
Fortunately, even though they didn’t get far in the playoffs last season, this year both of these teams have high hopes of making something happen as the Packers have one of the most potent offenses in the NFL and the Eagles will be ushering in a new era of football with quarterback Kevin Kolb under center.
The Philadelphia Eagles might need a few more years with Kevin Kolb under center before they can be considered legitimate contenders in the NFC East division so he can get his feet wet as the starter in the post Donovan McNabb era in Philly, but they do have a good young core of players in place to possibly contend for a Super Bowl title in the near future.
As for the Packers, Aaron Rodgers and company seem poised to make a run at the Super Bowl right now as long as they can get past Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North division. As for this matchup, the Packers are favored by 3 points as set by the major online sportsbooks like BetUs and DSI Diamond Sportsbook.
Coming into the season, the Packers will have one of the best offense/defense combinations in the NFL today, but even though Green Bay has one of the best secondarys in the league led by reigning Defensive Player of the Year in cornerback Charles Woodson, it will be the Packers offense that makes headlines this season.
Over the past couple of years, Aaron Rodgers has become one of the best quarterbacks in the league and could have a career year this season starting by leading the Green Bay Packers to victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.
