Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens finally reached an agreement with their second-round draft pick and the injured Sergio Kindle, who is also the very last rookie left unsigned from this year’s draft. Since Kindle is injured from an injury not related to football, he will not be playing during the 2010 NFL season.

Kindle is currently recovering from an injury that took him out of training camp before it even started as well as what could have been his first career NFL season that he participated in. He suffered a fractured skull, which he sustained when he fell took a fall down two sets of stairs prior to the start of training camp in July.

For now, the rookie linebacker will be placed on the team’s injured reserve list for non-football related injuries. This placement is what makes him ineligible to play for the entire 2010 season. His injury is serious and it’s an injury that the team as well as Kindle must take very seriously as well as carefully. He failed the Ravens’ physical and reportedly had problems with balance as well as reactions.

Kindle was initially drafted as the overall 43rd draft pick out of the second round of the 2010 NFL draft held earlier this year and was the last draft pick that had remained unsigned to this point. He will sign his contract Friday, which is reportedly a one-year contract worth $320,000 (even though he’ll likely make less since he missed the first two games of the season being unsigned) and is what teams are mandated to offer.

Once the 23-year-old linebacker drafted out of Texas signs, he will become an official Baltimore Ravens even though he won’t get to participate in on-field play this year and will be placed on injured reserve immediately upon signing.
