What we do know about the game is from a single leak earlier this year, which pinned the game as a prequel to "Red Dead Redemption". We'll be getting the first trailer this Thursday, October 20th at 11:00am EST.

Shares of Take-Two Interactive, which will publish Red Dead Redemption 2, are up 1.5% in pre-market trading Tuesday.

The firm noted that this number may be "conservative" since the Red Dead Redemption name has been "grow [ing] in stature over the years" thanks to glowing critical and fan reception. Which comes not long after the Red Dead Online domain was registered.

Red Dead Redemption Online was hugely popular until hacking on the public servers made the free roam version unplayable.

Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities expects the game to sell 10 million copies to retailers in Q1. After a couple of days of teasing the title, Rockstar has fupdated their Twitter page to say that the much-awaited sequel to the 2010 hit action-adventure game is coming in 2017.
