Pakistan denied entry from competing in 12-nation Kabaddi World Cup

According to news agency AFP, IKF chief Deoraj Chaturvedi has cleared that Pakistan has been denied entry due to tensions between both nations.

Such actions by India are persistently shutting the doors of reconciliation.

The Kabaddi World Cup, meawhile, has managed to attract five sponsors among which figure Patanjali Special Chawanprash as co-presenting sponsor, Volini, Thums Up, Indo-Nissin as partners with the fifth sponsor being Syska LEDs. These hostile actions will create a huge gap between two nations. "The IKF has been working to develop Kabaddi as a competitive discipline".

Pakistan has been barred from the Kabaddi World Cup in India amid rising tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

As many as 12 out of 32 Kabaddi playing nations have sent their teams for the tournament, which includes teams from USA, England, Australia, Iran, Poland, Thailand, Bangladesh, South Korea, Japan, Argentina and Kenya, besides hosts India. A first in India for any live sporting event, Hotstar will stream the Kabaddi World Cup games in stereoscopic 3D Virtual Reality (VR), giving sports fans in the country a breakthrough experience that has been rarely witnessed anywhere in the world.

The 12 captains echoed the same sentiment that participating at an global event of this stature will help garner more following in their countries. Therefore Kabaddi World Cup 2016 is expected to be followed eagerly by not just sports lovers but even by general public.

The teams have been divided into two groups of six teams each. The brunt has to take Pakistan's Kabaddi team by eliminating International Kabaddi Federation from Kabaddi World Cup. All matches will be telecast exclusively on the Star Sports network and Hotstar.

Kabbadi World Cup kicks off in Ahmedabad on Friday with formidable Iran clashing with the newcomer United States in the opening round. The fans and supporters of the sport have been eagerly waiting for the tournament to start.
