Payette coach Tricia Alvarez said that the team was going "all out" this year, with pink helium-filled balloons to make an entryway, pink streamers and special pink T-shirts that say "Fight on".

In honor and recognition of the upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October the San Rafael Police Department and San Rafael Parking Services will be participating in the Pink Patch Project San Rafael.

"We help people locally through complimentary therapies such as massage, hypnotherapy, nutritional advice, acupuncture which helps with night sweats and fatigue as well as mindfulness and EFT".

He said that there were a lot more that both the governments and non-governmental organisations could to do to provide interventions and sensitise people on the deadly disease.

Overall, black women in the United States are 43 percent more likely to die from breast cancer than white women.

Alvarez said that the unfortunate circumstance of having multiple family members with cancer has made the Pirates come together as a family.

"It has been very helpful for the girls", she said. Cancer effects so many people, so i think it's important to raise awareness. "Other students know what they're going through".

The event kicks off Saturday, October 22 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown with cocktails at 6 p.m. And Payette will host Homedale in their October 13 season finale.
