Boston Celtics sign Jermaine O’Neal to two-year deal

The Boston Celtics are still licking their wounds after losing game seven of the NBA Finals to their archrivals in the Los Angeles Lakers, but even though the loss to the Lakers was a hard thing to swallow, they must move on and they have done just that by already making some key moves for next season.

Decision Time for LeBron James

Finally, Thursday night is the end to the speculation that has been all around for the past few months. He is announcing to the world on national television where he will be playing for the 2010-2011 NBA season. He will be making his announcement in Greenwich, Connecticut, at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club.

Is his decision to stay with the Cavaliers in Cleveland or will he decide to join his two buds, Bosh and Wade, in Miami? Or will he head to New York, whom have decided that it is time to give up on the thought of him joining the team or will he enter into the legacy of none other than Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls? Jermaine O’Neal Gets 2-Year Deal with Celtics; Allen Re-signs

Jermaine O’Neal recently entered the market as a free agent. The center reportedly signed with the Boston on Thursday. Reportedly, he and the Celtics have come to an agreement for a two-year contract deal and will acquire nearly $5.8 million for the 2010-2011 NBA season.

The center turns 32 this coming October and in his 14-year career, he has played with a total of four different NBA teams including the Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat. Last season, O’Neal was with the Miami Heat where he started 70 total games in center position and recorded an average of 13.6 points, 1.4 blocks, and 6.9 rebounds. Continue Reading…

Carlos Boozer signs with the Chicago Bulls

With all eyes on Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh and LeBron James, the other big-name free agents have flown somewhat under the radar and gone unnoticed.

The one player that was thought to be a perfect complimentary player to LeBron or D-Wade next season was the Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer. Even though Stoudemire and Bosh were by far the more desired All-Star forwards in this free agent market, Boozer could have been the deciding factor for some of the big-name players to make the move to a different team. Spain advance to their first World Cup Final

The 2010 World Cup in South Africa is almost a month into its matches and now we are down to just two teams heading into a highly anticipated World Cup Final.

Coming into this World Cup, many people believed that there were just two teams that really stood a chance of competing for a World Cup trophy in an always competitive Brazilian squad and an extremely talented Spanish side.

Even though Brazil was playing some excellent football throughout this tournament, Kaka and company just couldn’t get passed a motivated Netherlands side that had no intentions of going home early. So despite being favored to go the distance, Brazil was knocked out in the quarterfinals by the Oranje.

Needless to say, the Dutch kept playing at top form as they faced off against Uruguay in the semifinal and came out victorious and will now head into an all-European World Cup Final. Continue Reading…

Bosh is Joining Wade in Miami; Will James?

The NBA free agency opened up six days ago on July 1 and there is a huge list of highly successful players that are available to go where they please and to whatever teams offers them the most money.

Dwayne Wade has previously stated that if he were to sign with the Miami Heat that he was sure to have either Chris Bosh or LeBron James as a teammate there. Did you guys believe him? Well, if you didn’t, then you should have.

Wednesday, Wade and Bosh ended all the speculation and rumors of who was going where, when they both decided to join the Miami Heat; Bosh will sign and Wade will stay. Wade has no idea what his new contract will consist of but he’s not worried. Same goes for Chris Bosh. Continue Reading…

Netherlands, Spain Defeat Uruguay, Germany to Advance to 2010 World Cup Final

The 2010 World Cup final has now been set. The two competing teams will be Netherlands and Spain. They will go head-to-head this coming Sunday in the final soccer match of the 2010 World Cup.

Uruguay was initially the team expected to win the Netherlands vs. Uruguay semi-final yesterday, but the Netherlands was able to jump in, work well as a team, and take home the victory of the semi-final to advance to the final to play the winner of the Spain vs. Germany soccer semi-final match. Netherlands beat Uruguay and advance to World Cup Final

The 2010 World Cup in South Africa has been entertaining to say the least as we have seen epic battles between some of the best international teams the world has to offer, but like every tournament, there has to be a winner and after today there are only three teams left in the running for the World Cup trophy.

One-Year Contract for F Gordon with Capitals

Tuesday, the Washington Capitals signed forward/center/right wing and restricted free agent Boyd Gordon to a contract for one year as announced by general manager and vice president of the Capitals, George McPhee. Various media sources report that the one-year contract deal is worth $800,000

The 26-year-old known penalty killer has been with Washington for seven seasons with his seventh being the 2009-2010 season where he appeared in 36 games and recorded six assists and four goals.
