Over the past half-decade or so, the Boston Celtics has been arguably one of the dominant forces in the NBA. With Celtics GM Danny Ainge pulling out all the stops and acquiring Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to play alongside Paul Pierce and rookie point guard Rajon Rondo, Boston were able to turn back the clock and become a perennial NBA title contender. Josh Smith has reportedly asked to be traded by the Atlanta Hawks

The NBA trade rumors are really going to start to ramp up this in the coming days with the NBA trade deadline less than a week away. After March 15, big-name players around the league like Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic), Pau Gasol (Los Angeles Lakers), Deron Williams (New Jersey Nets) and Monta Ellis (Golden State Warriors) might be playing elsewhere. Even though everyone will be waiting for the verdict on all these players, a new big-name has been added to the mix in the Atlanta Hawks’ Josh Smith. Continue Reading…

With the NBA trade deadline just a week away (March 15), the NBA trade rumors are starting to heat up around the league. One of the teams that have been surrounded by trade speculation and rumors as of late is the aging Boston Celtics. Now that the Big 3 of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are reportedly on the trading block in Beantown, the consensus was that a lot of teams would be interested in acquiring one or more of the future Hall of Famers.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case for Celtics GM Danny Ainge as the Big 3 of Boston has gotten little interest thus far. All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo has gotten quite a bit of interest around the league from teams like the arch rival Los Angeles Lakers, but KG, Pierce and Allen may remain Celtics after the NBA trade deadline.

This may ultimately be the best move for the Boston Celtics as keeping the Big 3 might give them a chance to compete for a deep run in the playoffs. There is no telling just how much gas is left in the tank for this once Eastern Conference powerhouse, but the talent is still there that can help this team compete with the best of the best in the NBA.

If there were to be a blockbuster trade in the works and one player were to be headed out of Boston before the trade deadline it would almost certainly be Rajon Rondo at this point. With Rondo having the most valuable and getting the most interest around the league, there is no question that the Celtics will get calls all the way up to and on March 15.

The temptation might be too great for Celtics GM Danny Ainge to pull the trigger on a deal that brings some young talent in return.

The NBA trade deadline is right around the corner (March 15) and a lot of rumors are starting to fly around about many different players. The biggest name reportedly on the trading block with less than ten days to go is without a doubt Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic, but it is still uncertain if the team is willing to give him up for what teams around the league are currently offering. Celtics head coach Doc Rivers believes Rajon Rondo won’t be traded

There has been a lot of trade talk circulating around the Boston Celtics as of late with many reports stating that the Big 3 of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo are on the table. Despite the expiring contract of Kevin Garnett, the veteran forward hasn’t gotten much interest if any at this point. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce are arguably the most movable players as they can still contribute at a high level.

Even though Allen or Pierce could be moved before the NBA trade deadline on March 15, the one big-name that could be on his way out of Boston before any other is Rajon Rondo. With many teams showing interest in the 25-year-old perennial All-Star, the consensus is that he could very well be traded to a team like the arch rival Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite all these reports of the Boston Celtics aggressively shopping their star point guard, head coach Doc Rivers believes that he will remain in a Celtics uniform for a long time. With Rondo being the future of the franchise after the Big 3, it doesn’t really make sense for the team to move him before the deadline, but there has been talk of Rondo’s relationship with Rivers being a key factor to a potential trade.

Rajon Rondo hasn’t publicly come out and said that he no longer wants to be in Boston, but with all the trade rumors throughout this season and the last, there is a good chance that he could be moved. The best trade proposal thus far seems to be coming from the Lakers who are in desperate need of a point guard upgrade and are looking to move Pau Gasol who the Celtics are said to be interested in.

The drama continues for NBA and reality TV star Lamar Odom as the veteran forward considers his future in the league. The Dallas Mavericks and owner Mark Cuban are no doubt getting a little tired of the Lamar Odom experiment in the Lone Star state and could very well buyout the versatile before season’s end.

At first glance, Lamar Odom was an absolute steal for the Mavericks as all they had to give up for the reigning Sixth Man of the Year was a trade exception and a first-round draft pick. Despite this steal of a trade, Odom has failed to live up to expectations thus far and might never get there in Dallas as he just hasn’t fitted in with the Mavs since being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers.

After taking some time off over the past few weeks to tend to his ill father, Lamar Odom is ready to get back to the floor despite contemplating retirement. Unfortunately, Odom will have to do one game in the NBA Development League for the Dallas Mavericks’ D-League affiliate the Texas Legends. This move by the team was made so that Odom can get his legs back before suiting up for the Mavs over the weekend.

Needless to say, Lamar Odom’s future in the NBA and with the Dallas Mavericks seems to be very much up in the air at this point. Despite Odom playing his worst basketball in quite some time, the veteran forward could easily get back to form if this time off was able to get his mind right moving forward. The prospect of a buyout is still a good possibility, but that might be determined at a later date if not after the season.

NBA legend and arguably the greatest player ever to play in the NBA Michael Jordan has officially put his longtime home in Chicago, Illinois up for sale. Jordan’s lavish mansion in the Windy City is going for a whopping $29 million. Hard to argue that isn’t worth the price considering the fact it has nine rooms, 15 bathrooms and five fireplaces to go along with an inbox basketball complex including full-size basketball court with a state of the art sound system. Kobe Bryant could wear a protective mask for broken nose

As arguably one of the toughest player in the NBA today, Kobe Bryant rarely bows down to any injury that he might suffer throughout the NBA season. This year Kobe has had to deal with torn ligaments in his shooting hand (right) and play in one of the most grueling NBA schedules due to the NBA lockout.

During the NBA All-Star game last weekend in Orlando, Florida, Kobe Bryant had another impressive performance on one of the league’s biggest stages by scoring 27 points which was just under All-Star game MVP Kevin Durant’s 36 points. Even though Kobe put on a show on All-Star Weekend, it didn’t come without a price as he suffered a broken nose and concussion with a hard foul from Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat. #1 Miami Heat (27-7)

Heading into the All-Star break in the NBA, it would be hard to argue that the Miami Heat weren’t the best all-around team in the league. With LeBron James and company playing exceptionally well on both ends of the floor, the Heat have been near flawless in the first half of the season with just seven losses thus far. The saga continues for the reigning Sixth Man of the Year as Lamar Odom tries to figure out what to do with his life. No player in the league has had to deal with more tragedy or drama over the past year or so than Mr. Kardashian himself. With multiple family tragedies and being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers after arguably his best season in the NBA, Odom has had to deal with many obstacles consecutively. Continue Reading…
