St. Louis Rams @ New Orleans Saints Sun. Dec. 12th 2010 4:05pm EST
The defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints got off to a rough start this season as they no longer resembled the dominant team they were last season early on, but over the last month and half they have played extremely well with five straight wins coming into Week 14’s matchup with the division-leading St. Louis Rams.
Even though Drew Brees and company have been one of the best teams in the league over the last month or so, they will have their work cut out for them in Week 14 against the frontrunner for rookie of the year in quarterback Sam Bradford and the up and coming St. Louis Rams. Don’t forget, NFL football betting starts tonight, Thursday.
Despite being pretty average in almost much every category on both sides of the football right now, the St. Louis Rams have played much better than anticipated this season and might be able to give the defending champs a run for their money this weekend at the Superdome.
As of right now, the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints are favored to come out on top in this matchup with a -9 point spread, but even though I believe that Sean Payton’s squad will get their tenth win of the season, the Rams are playing at a high level right now and talented enough to make this a close game.
No possible matchup in the NFL right now would warrant a -9 point spread to the favorite in my opinion as there is so much parity in the league that any matchup can be a hard fought battle. So with that being said, I believe taking the Rams at +9 would be the best bet for this Week 14 matchup.
