Bulls trade Hinrich and 17th pick in the NBA Draft to Wizards

The Chicago Bulls are one of only a handful of teams this summer that will have the means to sign a big-name free agent like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh, but after Thursday’s trade during the NBA Draft, the Bulls have taken another step in the right direction and now have the means to sign two big-name free agents come July 1st.

Throughout this past NBA regular season, the Chicago Bulls were shopping defensive minded point guard Kirk Hinrich in an attempt to clear some cap space for the upcoming free agent market. Unfortunately, despite fielding offers from teams like the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers, the Bulls were unable to make a deal and Hinrich remained with the team a little while longer.
