What happen to LeBron James in Game 4 of the NBA Finals?

Coming into Game 4 of the NBA Finals, the Miami Heat were looking to take a commanding lead over the Dallas Mavericks with a 3-1 edge heading into Game 5. Even though throughout most of the contest that is exactly what looked like was going to happen, the Dallas Mavericks turned it up a notch in the fourth quarter once again in order to pull off another thrilling comeback.

The Dallas Mavericks didn’t comeback from 15 down like they did in Game 2 in South Beach or overcome a big lead like the Los Angeles Lakers had against them in Game 1 of the second round of the playoffs, but they were able to contain the Miami Heat offensively and get the job done scoring the basketball.

One of the main reasons for the Miami Heat’s stagnant offense was the disappearance of LeBron James. During Game 4 LeBron did hand out seven assists and rip down nine boards, but offensively he was an absolute bust with just eight points on 3-of-11 shooting from the floor. Not only was he a disappointment shooting the basketball as seconds were ticking off the clock, but he couldn’t get it done at the line either as he shot a pitiful 2-for-4 from the charity stripe.

This came as quite a surprise to most people as LeBron James was shooting for the NBA Finals MVP if the Miami Heat were able to win the NBA title, but after this performance many people believe he might not be the clutch player in the fourth quarter that everyone has made him out to be in these NBA playoffs.

There is no question that LeBron James will almost certainly get back to form in Game 5, but if he doesn’t he will be in for a lot of scrutiny this summer, especially if the Miami Heat fail to close out the Dallas Mavericks in South Beach.
