NBA Power Rankings: Chicago Bulls still top dogs

#1 Chicago Bulls (16-3)

The Chicago Bulls have had their fair share of injury problems this season with reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose and new addition Richard Hamilton watching from the sidelines, but despite those two injuries to key players this team has still been able to maintain the league’s best record and the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

It would be hard to argue that any team in the East or West is better than the Chicago Bulls at full strength this season. It’ll be interesting to see if the Bulls can keep up their winning ways down the stretch if injuries continue to be a problem in the Windy City.

#2 Miami Heat (12-5)

The league’s most talked about Big 3 are at it again this season as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have this superstar team firing on all cylinders in South Beach after 17 games. D-Wade may have trouble getting back on the court as he tries to recover from injury, but LeBron and Bosh have had no trouble picking up the slack.

#3 Denver Nuggets (12-5)

There is no question that the one of the two teams on the list that has surprised everyone is this season is the Denver Nuggets. With Carmelo Anthony in the rearview and struggling in the Big Apple, the Nuggets have quickly turned into one of the best teams in the Western Conference and a team destined to make an impact in the playoffs this season.

#4 Oklahoma City Thunder (14-3)

Now that Russell Westbrook has signed on for the long haul (5-year extension worth $80), the Oklahoma City Thunder can concentrate on winning basketball games and so far they have done that better than any team in the Western Conference with Kevin Durant, James Harden and Russell Westbrook being arguably one of the league’s best Big 3 tandems.

#5 Philadelphia 76ers (12-5)

No team on this list is more shocking than the Philadelphia 76ers. There is no doubt that the 76ers have been a talented young team over the past few years, but all they needed was the guidance of basketball guru and head coach Doug Collins to make it all come together in Philly.
