San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies Sat. April 23, 2011 7:30 p.m. EST
Coming into their first-round playoff series against the eighth seeded Memphis Grizzlies, the number one seeded San Antonio Spurs were favored to be the team to advance and for good reason as they were arguably the best team in the league throughout the NBA regular season. Despite the fact that the Spurs were as dominant as they were throughout the first 82 games, Tim Duncan and company have really started to struggle in the past month or so and have let the Grizzlies steal one win in San Antonio.
Now the series has shifted to Memphis for the next two games and even though the Spurs took Game 2 in San Antonio, the Grizzlies will be ready to extend this series in further by getting at least one win on their home floor. In Game 2, the Spurs were able to get back into the mix as they saw arguably their best all-around player in Manu Ginobili return to the floor and lead them to victory.
After his impressive performance in Game 2, Manu Ginobili looks like he will be good to go for the rest of the series, but even though he played well in his return; the Spurs still had their hands full with the Grizzlies.
Coming into Game 3, the Memphis Grizzlies will try to keep their foot on the gas pedal as they do seem like the better team and are convinced that they can pull off the unlikely upset. The San Antonio Spurs know that Game 3 will be crucial as a win would help break the confidence of this young team, but I believe the Memphis Grizzlies will get the best of the Spurs in this one.
As of right now, the Memphis Grizzlies have the edge with a -2 point spread. This spread is right on the money in my opinion.
