Not since the beginning of the last decade have the Sacramento Kings been relevant in the NBA. It goes back to the days of Chris Webber, Mike Bibby and Peja Stojakovic in the prime of their careers battling it out with the Los Angeles Lakers for the right to be crowned Western Conference champions.
Ever since the Kings failed to get the best of the Lakers in consecutive years, Sacramento has become a ghost town with the team slowly slipping back into mediocrity. Not only are they no longer contenders in the West, but they can’t seem to build the team back up with rookie talent that never seems to pan out or have the same impact as the Webber era in Sacramento.
With Sacramento not exactly being a prime location for an NBA team these days, the Maloof brothers, owners for the Kings, have looked elsewhere to other desirable locations around the country to take the team in an attempt to draw free agents and drive up ticket prices.
Last year, it was rumored that a move to Anaheim was imminent for the struggling NBA franchise. A new arena for the Kings in Sacramento seemed to be a long shot and a move down south was a distinct possibility if not a forgone conclusion.
Ultimately, the move never happened and the Maloof brothers were back to square one. Now it appears another unlikely and possibility just as undesirable location in comparison to Sacramento has presented itself in the form of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Apparently, Comcast and the Live Nation concert promoter would help to make this move a reality by building a new stadium. The Maloof brothers have since refuted the report of a deal in the works, but it appears that talks are ongoing with many different cities interested in bringing in the Kings.

I appreciate your opinion, but I’m guessing you’ve never been to Virginia Beach. All you really know is what you googled about it. Our area is a beautiful area and would support a team to the end of the world.
