Knicks’ Jeremy Lin Still Doubtful to Return During Jeremy Lin

No team in the NBA has been surrounded by more media attention this season than the New York Knicks. With the Knicks pairing Carmelo Anthony with Amare Stoudemire last season and acquiring Defensive Player of the Year Tyson Chandler, the consensus was that this team should be a legitimate NBA title contender this year and a serious threat in the Eastern Conference.

Unfortunately, despite making seemingly the right moves in the offseason, the Knicks have continued to struggle and have failed to live up to expectations. In the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Knicks were given arguably the toughest challenge of any team in the postseason by going head-to-head against the Miami Heat. This matchup was thought to be intriguing, but now appears to be a lopsided affair with the Heat dominating the Knicks in the first two games.

As if getting manhandled by LeBron James and company wasn’t bad enough for the Knicks, New York has now lost 12th straight playoff games (last playoff win in 2001) and have also lost Stoudemire for Game 3 and potentially the rest of the series. One player the Knicks were hoping to get back in this series is up-and-coming point guard Jeremy Lin.

Lin is recovering from surgery on his left knee and is making progress. Unfortunately, the progress might not be fast enough to save the Knicks as he will definitely be out for Game 3 and is doubtful for Game 4. The way things are going for New York, the Knicks won’t be around for Game 5 with the Heat looking like they will pull off the sweep.

Whether or not the Knicks can stay alive over the next two games remains to be seen, but getting Lin back would definitely help their chances of making this a series if the can last past Game 4.
