For the first time in the history of the NBA, the league has continued to get a lot of attention throughout the offseason and the popularity of the game could be at an all time high.
Even though the NBA might not be getting as much attention as it did when Michael Jordan ruled the world of professional sports, it is getting pretty close, especially with all the hype and media attention all the big-name free agents have gotten this summer.
Recently, the biggest names available on the open market agreed to make join forces in South Beach as superstars Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James all signed with the Miami Heat.
With a new NBA superpower being formed in the Eastern Conference and the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers dominating the Western Conference, many teams and players around the league have looked to make moves in order to compete for an NBA title.
The most recent superstar that has expressed his intentions to form another superpower or big three in the NBA is the New Orleans Hornets All-Star point guard Chris Paul.
It is no secret that the New Orleans Hornets are going through some trying times right now after firing head coach Byron Scott and having a very disappointing season last year. Along with moving forward with a new head coach, the Hornets seem to be no longer considered a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference and as a result have little or no chance to win an NBA title in the near future.
With that being said, Chris Paul has realized that if he wants to win an NBA title that he will most likely have to head elsewhere with the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic being his top two choices.
Even though a possible trade seemed to be imminent for arguably the best point guard in the league, it seems as though he has decided to stay and fulfill the last two years on his current contract after talking with Hornets management about future plans for the franchise.
This comes as a surprise to most people as there seemed to be no way that CP3 would stay in New Orleans, but the Hornets are probably taking a huge shy of relief after almost losing their face of the franchise.
