Coming into Super Bowl XLV there is no shortage of things to bet on as oddsmakers have almost every part of the game broken down to a science and put a spread or money line on it. The one thing I find really intriguing to lay your money down on the sides the spread (-3 Green Bay Packers) and the over/under (over 44.5) is on which team will score the first touchdown.
Obviously, this is something that might not even happen in a football game, especially with two great defense is like the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite having a great defense, a great offense is sometimes better in the long run as a team like the Packers can’t have the ability to score a moment’s notice against any opposing defense.
In my opinion, the Green Bay Packers offense is without a doubt the better offense in the Super Bowl matchup, but Pittsburgh Steelers can put some points on the board to as they have a potent running game and a quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger that has been in this situation two times before.
With that being said, either team has the ability to score the first touchdown even if it’s a defensive touchdown that does it. Despite these being the facts, the safest bet here would be to take the Green Bay Packers to score the first TD in Super Bowl XLV.
As of right now, I think he just doesn’t get better at the quarterback position than Aaron Rodgers. Not only is Rodgers a very talented QB who could run it in just as easy as he can throw it in for a touchdown, but he does have a talented receiving corps with the likes of Greg Jennings and veteran wideout Donald Driver at his disposal.
The sound that’s are always risky, but I bet in general is risky. So if you are planning on betting on the first TD, I would say go with the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers to Greg Jennings.
