Last season the New England Patriots made a drastic move around midseason that no one saw coming as Bill Belichick and company cut ties with arguably one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history in Randy Moss by trading him to one of his former teams in the Minnesota Vikings. This move took everyone by surprise and was thought to be ill-advised considering the fact that Randy Moss was Tom Brady’s favorite target and their best downfield threat.
Despite all the criticism the team got for the move and whether or not it would hurt the team’s chances of competing in the AFC East division, the New England Patriots moved forward without the future Hall of Famer and actually improved their all-around game.
Fortunately, the Patriots were able to bring in a former wideout in Deion Branch and saw Danny Woodhead emerge as a threat in the offense as New England went on to win the AFC East division title and head back into the playoffs.
During the NFL offseason the Patriots made yet another bold move by acquiring a Pro Bowl caliber wide receiver in Chad Ochocinco from the Cincinnati Bengals. This move was thought to replace Randy Moss and make the team that much better, but apparently the recently retired superstar wants another crack at it as he has said that he would like to come back to Foxboro.
This isn’t a big surprise as the consensus was that Randy Moss only retired because he wasn’t getting the kind of offers he wanted in free agency and now is desperate to get back on the field with the best team and quarterback he has ever played with.
Reportedly, reigning NFL MVP Tom Brady isn’t opposed to the return of Randy Moss, but Bill Belichick might be thinking otherwise.

Dink and dunk never wins in the playoffs. Having a solid run game and deep threat receivers is crucial. Pats need to bring him in.
Same point as I’ve said since the playoff loss… Bring Randy back. Look, Randy wants 2 things. Money and a ring… best chance for a ring is catching TD passes from Tom Brady and the money… 1.5-2M one yr. contract heavy with monetary incentives and $$$ forfeitures for ANY bad behaviour. I think he’d jump on it and BB is the man to keep him reminded of the structure of his contract in case he forgets.
