Pittsburgh Steelers vs New Orleans Saints Sun. Oct. 31st 8:20pm EST
Last season the Pittsburgh Steelers were an absolute mess as they couldn’t get anything going on either side of the football in their title defense and ultimately ended up missing the playoffs entirely, but this season head coach Mike Tomlin and company seem to have things figured out as they have gotten off to an impressive start with a 5-1 record heading into their Week 8 matchup with the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.
Even though the defending champs were considered to be one of the best teams in the league once again this season and would have a legitimate shot at repeating, Drew Brees and company have struggled to play consistently well over the first seven weeks of the season as they have lost three games.
Not only have the New Orleans Saints already dropped three games this season, but their losses have been to teams they should have beaten and beaten convincingly with the exception of the Atlanta Falcons.
With losses to the Arizona Cardinals (30-20) a few weeks ago and last week upset against the Cleveland Browns (30-17), the New Orleans Saints have shown that they are no longer that team that absolutely dominated the NFC Conference last season, but there is still time to turn around their season and a win over arguably the best team in the league in the Pittsburgh Steelers would be just what they need to be headed in the right direction moving forward.
As of right now, there is no clear favorite in this matchup between the last two teams to win the Super Bowl, but something tells me that the New Orleans Saints will get back on track this week with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
