Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers Sun. Oct. 3rd 1pm EST
The Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers are two teams in the NFC North division that are headed in completely directions, but they are both coming off a loss in Week 3 to division opponents in the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears.
There is no question that the Green Bay Packers are one of the best teams in the NFC Conference this season, but they will need to keep their momentum going by getting every win they can from now up until the playoffs and this second straight matchup against a NFC North opponent will be crucial as Aaron Rodgers and company do everything they can to try and catch up the first place Chicago Bears.
The Detroit Lions on the other hand are playing much better than anticipated this season, but still have their fair share of struggles as they are dealing with the injury to quarterback Matthew Stafford (shoulder) and trying to get rookie running back Jahvid Best back to form 100%.
Fortunately, the Lions will have Best for the NFC North showdown with the Packers, but with the Green Bay run defense being amongst the best in the league this season, the rookie might be in for a long day of one to two yard runs and no touchdowns.
So even though the future is looking a bit brighter for the Detroit Lions with the addition of Jahvid Best to their backfield and other players like Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Ndamukong Suh coming into their own, they will almost certainly be headed towards their fourth consecutive loss of the season against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4.
As of right now, the Green Bay Packers are favored to win this matchup with a -14.5 point spread, but that seems a bit high in my opinion.
