As arguably one of the most hyped football teams heading into last season, the Philadelphia Eagles were thought to pave their way to the Super Bowl with little resistance in the NFC Conference. With so much talent on both sides of the football and a rejuvenated Michael Vick under center, there seemed to be no stopping the Eagles on paper.
Unfortunately for Philadelphia, the product on the football field was far from what was on paper as the Eagles were without a doubt the biggest disappointment last season and failed to make the NFL playoffs.
Coming into this season, the Eagles had the mindset of redemption with a huge chip on their shoulders after last season’s collapse. Right out of the gate, Vick struggled by throwing four interceptions against the Cleveland Browns, but were able to overcome with a 17-16 victory to start the season, 1-0.
In Week 2, the Eagles were able to snag another win by getting the best one of a very good Baltimore Ravens squad. This come-from-behind victory proved to many that the Eagles were starting to come to together.
Heading into Week 3, Vick and company will look to keep the streak alive against a familiar face in the form of former Philly quarterback, Kevin Kolb. Even though Kolb hasn’t exactly panned out for the Arizona Cardinals since being traded by the Eagles, the promising youngster has looked good as of late and is coming off an impressive win over the New England Patriots.
As of right now, the Cardinals are the favorites, believe it or not, with a -4 point spread. The win over the Patriots was a fluke in my opinion as the Cardinals will show their true colors on Sunday with the Eagles getting the win in Arizona.
Take the Eagles at +4.
