Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots Sat. Jan. 14, 2012 8 p.m. EST
The stage is set for an epic showdown between two of the most popular starting quarterbacks in the NFL today with up-and-comer Tim Tebow facing off against the three-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. Not only will the media be going crazy promoting this NFL playoff game with two of the league’s golden boys leading the way, but this could be an intriguing matchup.
The biggest headline in this game will no doubt be Tebow going head-to-head against Brady for the second time this season, but the real question will be whether or not the Broncos’ defense can stop the potent offense of the Patriots. New England has that uncanny knack for absolutely dominating the competition with one of the best offenses in the NFL.
Even though the New England Patriots are as dominant as they are offense and lit up the Denver Broncos for 41 points back in Week 15, Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller have been one of the league’s best dynamic duos on defense this season and will be looking to prove that fact this Saturday night at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
Another major factor to consider is whether or not Tim Tebow will be able to have a repeat performance in the playoffs. With as impressive as he was against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tebow showed he can get the job done, but doing it in consecutive weeks will be tough.
As of right now, the New England Patriots are the overwhelming favorites to get the playoff win and advantage to the AFC Championship game with a -14 point spread. Even though I believe the Patriots will win this game, they won’t do it by two touchdowns or more.
