A few weeks ago, the Denver Broncos and new head coach John Fox made the drastic move to change starting quarterbacks at about midseason. The move sent veteran quarterback Kyle Orton to the bench in favor of the extremely popular second-year QB Tim Tebow. This move was highly criticized, but something that seemed to be inevitable due to the Broncos faithful calling for the head of Orton in order for Tebow to get under center.

In Week 7, Tim Tebow got the start for the Denver Broncos and was able to lead his team to the second win of the season over the lowly Miami Dolphins. Even though Tebow was awful throughout the majority of the contest, the former Heisman trophy was able to lead the Broncos from behind and get the win.

This come-from-behind victory over the lowly Miami Dolphins was enough to dub Tim Tebow the savoir of the Denver Broncos, but then just a week later the boys from Mile High had to defend their home field against the up-and-coming Detroit Lions. With the Lions coming off two straight losses to the San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Falcons, Matthew Stafford and company came into Week 8 with a new attitude as they considered this game against the Broncos to be a tune-up and a much-needed wakeup call for a team that desperately needed to get back on track.

Fortunately for the Lions, that is exactly what happened with Detroit destroying Denver, 45-10. Not only did the Broncos’ defense fail to show up against a very good Lions’ offense, but Tim Tebow had a performance he would like to forget with just 172 passing yards (18-of-39), one interception and one fumble. Tebow did throw for one touchdown and rush for 63 yards, but his performance was considered to be very poor and bad enough for John Fox to think about a change.

Even though most people believe that Tim Tebow should probably get benched for Week 9’s divisional matchup against the arch rival Oakland Raiders, head coach John Fox has decided to stick with Tebow for a least one more week.
