The Cleveland Browns are currently 0-3, after losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday with a final score of 24-17 in the Ravens’ favor so in the long run right now, it’s not looking good for the Browns. There is still time to pick up their pace and get back in the game – and they may actually be able to do this soon. They finally received some good news today when Jake Delhomme, who practiced on Wednesday inside the indoor facility of the club with trainers by his side, was cleared to practice for the first time since his ankle injury – although his practice session will be limited.
35-year-old Delhomme has been sitting out the past two football games due to a right ankle sprain, which he initially incurred in the Browns’ NFL season opener against Tampa Bay and was his Cleveland Browns debut since being signed as a free agent earlier this year in March.
In the quarterback’s absence has been Seneca Wallace in both losses against the Ravens this past Sunday and to Kansas City before that. Coach Eric Mangini likes Wallace and thinks that he brings a lot to the team; however, Delhomme provides the Browns the absolute best possibility to win.
Delhomme is the starting quarterback, the coach doesn’t plan on changing that; however, he does plan on making sure that Delhomme is ready to get back on the field before he allows his return to the Browns’ lineup. If he can practice well the next couple of days and show that his ankle has healed and that he can get back on the field then he is likely to start on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
So, if all goes well this week in practice, you can look for Delhomme to be on the field as the Browns’ starting quarterback this Sunday, October 3, at home against Cincinnati at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Please dont let this mean that Wallace is only going to be on the field for one play a game again. I like Jake a lot and he should start but daboll needs to use what weapons he has and if u ask me Wallace cribs hillis dellhome vickers and wattson all in at once sounds pretty damn scary to a defense. So much speed power strength and athleticism there all in different styles… Nobody would have any idea what was about to come at them on any given play
