The Buffalo Bills have been the surprise team of the NFL regular season this year as they have gotten off to a perfect 3-0 start and proven to their doubters that they are for real and finally ready to compete for a playoff spot in the AFC Conference. Not only are they ready to compete in the AFC, but they just might be able to get the best of the New England Patriots and the New York Jets in the AFC East division for the first time since the Jim Kelly era in Buffalo.
With that being said, there has been a lot of talk floating around Buffalo and the entire league about whether or not Bills’ quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is one of the league’s best under center. There is no question that Fitzpatrick’s emergence as possible Pro Bowl in the AFC could be nothing more than a fluke at the halfway point of the season if the Bills start to struggle, but as of right now he is about as good as any quarterback in the league in pressure situations.
In Week 3, the Buffalo Bills faced their toughest test so far this season in the form of the division rival New England Patriots. With superstar quarterback Tom Brady and company firing on all cylinders in the first two weeks of the season, the Patriots are considered to be a Super Bowl title contender once again, but then they squared off against a young and hungry Buffalo Bills squad led by Ryan Fitzpatrick.
In the divisional showdown against the Patriots last week, the up-and-coming gunslinger was picked off twice, but he did show that he is ready to continue this breakout season and make a name for himself. If Fitzpatrick can keep up his impressive performance for the next few weeks, the Bills QB will almost certainly be in the NFL MVP conversation.
