Brigham Young Cougars (3) vs. Wofford Terriers (14) Thurs. March 17, 2011 7:15 p.m. EST

One of the most exciting college basketball teams in the country this season has been the BYU Cougars (3). Even though BYU has primarily been football school, this season they have really turned the table as they saw arguably the best player in college basketball emerge in scoring machine Jimmer Fredette.

Not since the days of Danny Ainge has the BYU Cougars (3) basketball gotten so much recognition, but this time around this team looks like they have a legitimate shot of winning an NCAA title.

Coming into the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the BYU Cougars (3) will be one of the teams to watch in the Southeast Region as they could run the table and make it the Final Four. Even though there are teams like the Pittsburgh Panthers (1), Florida Gators (2) and the Wisconsin Badgers (4) that Jimmer Fredette and company will have to ultimately get through in order to make it to the Final Four, none of these other teams have unstoppable force like the Cougars do with Fredette.

In their first matchup of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, Jimmer Fredette and the BYU Cougars (3) will go head-to-head against the Wofford Terriers (14).

Obviously, the Terriers aren’t exactly a household name and will almost certainly get destroyed by the Cougars in the first round, but this tournament became famous for its unpredictability as anything can happen from the first round all the way up to the National Championship game.

As of right now, the BYU Cougars (3) are heavily favored in this game with a -8.5 point spread in their favor. This spread is a bit low in my opinion as I can see Jimmer Fredette and the BYU Cougars (3) should cruise past the Wofford Terriers (14) to advance to the next round.
