Lakers Dominate Nuggets with Historic Performance from Andrew Bynum

After coming off arguably his best season in the NBA thus far, All-Star center Andrew Bynum of the Los Angeles Lakers put on a historic performance in Game 1 against the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets were thought to be a team that might be able to give the Lakers a run for their money in the first round, but that doesn’t appear to be the case so far with the Lakeshow dominating George Karl’s squad right out of the gate. Clippers comeback from 27 down to beat Grizzlies in Game 1 of NBA Playoffs

As arguably the most anticipated matchup in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Memphis Grizzlies went head-to-head on Sunday and didn’t disappoint. Even though the league was buzzing about Derrick Rose’s season-ending injury and the Los Angeles Lakers destroying the Denver Nuggets, the Clippers stole the show on Sunday with an impressive come-from-behind win over the Grizzlies, 99-98. Kobe Bryant Allows Kevin Durant to Win 3rd Straight Scoring Title

After leading the league in scoring throughout the majority of the NBA season this year, five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers has decided to sit out the final game of the regular season and concede the NBA scoring title to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant. With Durant creeping up on Kobe while he was out with an injured shin, the Black Mamba hasn’t had the opportunity to keep in front. Continue Reading…

NFL Leaning Towards Getting Rid of the Pro Bowl

As arguably the most unappreciated and least watched All-Star game in professional sports, the NFL Pro Bowl is not exactly a big revenue stream from the most popular sport in this country. Even though every player in the league wants to become a perennial Pro Bowler or at least get voted onto a team once or twice in their careers, playing in the game is nowhere near as important as actually being dubbed a Pro Bowler. Bulls’ Derrick Rose Tops Kobe Bryant and Jeremy Lin in NBA Jersey Sales

This NBA season has been an interesting one to say the least in terms of jersey sales. Coming into the year, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James of the Miami Heat were the top dogs in league with jerseys flying off the shelves on both the east and west coast along with around the world. Both players have gotten so popular over the past few years that there superstardom has spread like wildfire across the globe much like Michael Jordan in the ‘90s.

Ironically enough, despite Kobe and LeBron being arguably the most popular NBA players in the world today, neither one of them topped the charts in terms of jersey sales with the NBA season coming to a close. After the Linsanity craze during the middle of the season, New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin had the highest selling jersey with everyone in this country and overseas jumping on the bandwagon. Now that the craze has died down with Lin sidelined with injury, a new top-selling jersey has emerged.

Despite being on and off the injured throughout the entire season this year, reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls has claimed the top spot with the best-selling NBA jersey. This is interesting to say the least as Rose has taken a backseat in the league this season. Even though the up-and-comer has been sidelined for the majority of the year, it just didn’t seem to matter with the rising star’s popularity going through the roof with the resurgence of the Bulls. Lakers’ Metta World Peace Suspended 7 Games for Elbow

The NBA has finally made a decision on the fate of Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace after elbowing James Harden of the Oklahoma City Thunder this past Sunday.
